AKKMI Supports Kemenperin in Mapping the Domestic Contract Manufacturing Cosmetics Industry

In the meeting, the Ministry of Industry (Kemenperin) invited beauty industry associations to collaborate in mapping the domestic contract manufacturing cosmetics industry.

This mapping includes an analysis of the capabilities, obstacles, and weaknesses faced by industry players, with the goal of identifying potential and challenges that hinder the growth of the contract manufacturing cosmetics sector, as well as understanding the limits of the industry's ability to face these opportunities and challenges.

To ensure the success of this program, Kemenperin has called for the active involvement of associations such as AKKMI and Perkosmi. This collaboration is expected to create a more integrated industry ecosystem and support the growth of domestic contract manufacturing cosmetics.

AKKMI Chairperson, Sri Rahayu Widya Ningrum, stated that this mapping is a crucial step in increasing the competitiveness of the local cosmetics industry. "AKKMI is ready to contribute to this program because we believe that accurate data will serve as the foundation for effective policies to advance the contract manufacturing cosmetics industry," said Sri Rahayu.

Through this synergy, it is hoped that the mapping program will provide the right and tangible strategies to overcome regulatory obstacles, resource limitations, and market access challenges. Additionally, the program aims to encourage local product innovation to compete in both national and international markets.

The discussion also covered the principles of collaboration.

The active support from AKKMI and Perkosmi demonstrates a shared commitment to strengthening Indonesia's position as a competitive cosmetics manufacturing hub in the Asia-Pacific region.
