BPOM expects AKKMI to play an active role in providing education, guidance, and support to business players in the cosmetics sector, particularly in the micro industry, which often faces challenges in complying with regulations and obtaining permits. The key roles expected from AKKMI are as follows:
Supporting Regulatory Compliance
AKKMI can assist micro industry players in understanding and complying with applicable regulations, including providing guidance in the product registration process to obtain marketing authorization.
Developing Competitive Products
Contract manufacturers within AKKMI can collaborate with brand owners from the micro industry to create innovative, competitive, and high-quality products.
Education on Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
AKKMI can initiate training and workshops to enhance the understanding and application of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) among micro industry producers, ensuring that they adhere to the required standards for producing quality cosmetics.
Collaboration for the Advancement of the Cosmetics Industry
Through this synergy, BPOM and AKKMI are expected to create an ecosystem that supports the growth of the contract manufacturing cosmetics industry in Indonesia. By focusing on regulatory aspects, product innovation, and education, this collaboration aims not only to enhance the competitiveness of local cosmetic products but also to expand market access in a more inclusive way for micro-business entrepreneurs.
It is hoped that this joint effort will lead to a more professional, safe, and high-quality cosmetics industry, while also contributing to the national economic development.
